Project Manager – Fixed Term Contract

Overview

This is a 6-month contract position, with the potential to extend to 12-months total.  This position is part of the regional R&D team supporting the Sub-Sahara Africa cluster.  The R&D team is responsible for developing and executing new product development and business maintenance projects across the Pest Control, Home Cleaning, Air Care, and Shoe Care categories. The Sr. Associate Project Manager is responsible to lead cross functional project teams in Development, Commercialization, and Launch phases to ensure project schedule, cost, quality, and design objectives are met. 

Responsibilities:

• Develop and own project timelines, key milestones, and risk mitigation plans.
• Manage project execution against aligned project scope and committed timelines.  Escalate risks, delays, or scope changes to stakeholders.
• Manage project through SCJ end-to-end process, aligning with stakeholders and gaining approvals at each project gate.
• Lead project team meetings, taking notes and communicating project status and actions to team members
• Manage risk identification and mitigation plans to achieve project objectives
• Collaborate with multifunctional core teams (RD&E, Design, Marketing, Marketing Research, and Product Supply) to successfully identify, develop and launch new products in an accelerated manner.
• Lead technical feasibility exploration as a technical lead for projects that begin in early ideation or development phases.

Experience you’ll bring:

• Bachelor of Science or a related engineering field, with 2 plus years of project management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of product development process and experience related to various delivery system technologies is considered a plus (e.g., aerosols, rigid plastics, flexible films, blister packs, paperboard cartons, etc.)
• Ability to define and build alignment from technical stakeholders around an effective research plan.
• Demonstrated capability to handle multiple projects/programs concurrently
• Experience with directing the efforts of external vendors and consultants is preferred.

• Strong leadership, influence, and cross-functional teaming skills to effectively work across internal organizational boundaries.
• Strong oral & written communication skills, with ability to deliver a concise message across levels within the organization.
• Ability to lead technical work ranging from individual research initiatives to more complex projects, serving as the RDE Technical Lead when called upon to manage multiple project work-streams.
