ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you passionate about turning data into actionable insights that drive category growth and shopper satisfaction? As the Manager, Category Advisor – Sam’s Club, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of key categories by partnering closely with the Sam’s Club merchant team. Leveraging your expertise in category management and shopper behavior, you’ll uncover trends, identify opportunities, and deliver strategic recommendations that influence merchandising decisions. From crafting compelling assortment strategies to managing the modular relay process and planogram execution, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering value to both the business and Sam’s Club members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for generating and delivering compelling categories, shopper and consumer insights that lead to actional recommendations
Present analysis, market trend information and category opportunities directly to Sam’s Club, maintaining a strong relationship directly with the buyers
Responsible for drawing and updating planograms for the assigned categories
Collaborate with internal (SCJ Category Insights teams) and external insights partners to identify market and shopper trends that are driving category/ member growth
Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to the merchants
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant business experience OR advanced degree and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant business experience
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
1+ year of business analytics experience
Experience in CPG and/or retail
Experience working with syndicated data software (i.e., Circana or Nielsen), Madrid and Numerator
Proven proficiency in using JDA (or equivalent)
Experience with advanced analytics around promotional / non promotional and pricing strategy
Experience working with Microsoft Office programs specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred experience working with the Club Channel/ Sam’s Club
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Full Time onsite role in Rogers, AR
30% Travel
Office work environment: Remote work available once a week for eligible employees
This role is not eligible for relocation
