ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently searching for an experienced finance professional to join our Global Supply Chain organization and report to the Director, FP&A for North America Supply Chain and logistics.
As Manager, you will partner closely with key North America Supply Chain leaders to provide strategic business decision support, general financial analysis, and control for Logistics. Additionally, you will manage 3 direct reports that support North America Consumer Business (NACB) and Lifestyle Brands (LSB). To excel in this role, you will bring a broad financial perspective and general business acumen to act as a sounding board and liaison to business support groups and directly participate in the formulation of business plans.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a business partner with NACB and LSB Supply Chain teams to drive strategic initiatives and achieve Net Sales budget targets in Sales Freight, Other Distribution, Supply Chain Discounts/Deductions and Remnants.
Finance lead on strategic initiatives and cost savings projects for NACB and LSB logistics teams and play a key role in ongoing RFPs for various modes of freight, third-party logistics and logistics capital investments.
Lead the annual budget and monthly forecast process for Logistics.
Manage weekly and monthly reporting of Supply Chain key financial and operational metrics, cost savings projects and expense projections as well as freight and logistics-related accruals.
Proactively identify performance gaps and underlying causes to recommend corrective measures to align results with strategic goals.
Lead project-oriented initiatives and perform ad hoc financial analyses.
Evaluate, approve and manage Logistics capital project spending.
Assist Logistics to identify and resolve Finished Goods variances at the Regional Distribution Centers (RDCs) and at Third Party Contract Manufacturers (3PMs).
Work with the internal and external auditors on freight and logistics accruals, RDC audit recommendations and SOAR compliance.
Manage and develop direct reports, including 1 Associate Manager & 2 Sr. Financial Analysts; Ensure strong communication and change management developed and executed.
Leverage key finance drivers in order to develop and execute detailed project management plans.
Apply a continuous improvements framework by seeking new ways to enhance performance, improve results and/ or transform the business and the industry in which it operates.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other relevant business degree and 7+ years of directly related experience; OR Advanced degree in finance, accounting, or other relevant business degree and 5+ years of related experience.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship for full-time employment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
MBA and/or CPA
Demonstrated analytical skillset (i.e., complex financial analysis, discounted cash flow/project valuation) and financial statement management (P&L analysis and modeling).
Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC), Business Warehouse (BW), SAP, Excel.
Experience managing direct reports and developing a highly motivated team
Effective project management and execution skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the organization.
Strong strategic thinker.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally and make meaningful contributions to a team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Full time Monday through Friday business hours
This position will be located at Sam’s West in Mt. Pleasant/Racine
Remote work available once a week for eligible employees
This role is eligible for domestic relocation
