The position leads the plant wide implementation of focused improvement process through deployment of Lean and FI improvement methodology and associated tools/techniques. Goal is to achieve zero losses and waste with 100% involvement of our team members by improving capability of team with the mindset to win. Delivering the required output at the right quality and cost. Keep agreed safety and environmental standards
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Capability Building:
- Responsible for training and coaching plant personnel on FI methodologies
- Motivate, inspire, and mentor plant associates
- Cascade objectives into projects, Loss Tree Analysis, Changeover, etc.
- Drive lean training and implement a lean toolkit utilizing PDCA; value stream mapping; quick changeovers; Kaizen, problem solving, 5S, etc.
- Ensure the development of internal resource capability with-in plant on the proper use of FI tools.
- Ensures that the site infrastructure is maintained effectively and that medium and long term objectives are in place to develop facilities in line with the needs of the businesses on the sites.
- Involve various projects directed by superior in accordance with company needs
Continuous Improvement:
- Support the area and department managers and plant management to identify and prioritize the projects aligned with the priorities of the plant according to the Operational Master Plan and Zero Loss Journey.
- Coordinate the improvement program to drive rapid improvement in plant.
- Consolidate the list of projects and report it to the global pillar leader.
- Ensure plant has an improvement list of prioritized opportunities that are being planned for action.
- Ensure researching and urgency in approach in execution
- Support in the selection of project leaders and FI pillar members to ensure effective identification, analysis and reduction of losses in the plant
- Ensure resolution to issues slowing progress, put countermeasures in place to ensure savings stay on track.
- Implement continuous improvement programs, S&OP Class A activities and keep the plant in compliance with all corporate SHE standards and guidelines.
- Performs in additional tasks and projects of JHHP
Leadership:
- Primary lead for all the plant FI activities and results
- OEE improvement, Kaizen activities, Loss Analysis, Cost savings, etc.
- Provide leadership and direction for plant Focus Improvement pillar
- Establish and follow through on the FI master plan
- Establish and apply the Standard Daily Work for FI pillar in the plant
- Deploy the Focused Improvement pillar of SCJ to the plant
- Lead, monitor and report FI Drivers & project status.
- Lead Steering Committee Meeting with all pillar lead and plant management
- Lead the maturity of FI in the plant by auditing the FI activities, developing, and implementing action plans to achieve phased audit goals
- Leads the drive towards World Class Operations, including implementation of a performance-oriented work force
Cost Savings:
- Work with plant accountant/finance to ensure project savings are being properly tracked and reported
- Initiate, evaluate and implement Cost Reduction projects through fixed overhead, labor and material savings
- Coordinate with manufacturing supervision and other staff services in accomplishing projects
- Maintain SCJ’s tool for tracking cost savings projects.
- Consolidate and report the savings to the Plant Management team
- Using tracking and reporting systems, prepare plans, drive performance, and assure timely completion and achievement of product/process quality and savings goals
- Be the leader in the plant’s War on Waste including publishing status updates on the Waste improvement initiatives and working collaboratively with all departments on waste reduction.
- Defines investment plans to maintain competitiveness and optimize efficiency and productivity levels.
Re-application and Best practices:
- Ensures best practices are communicated and leveraged
- Leverages Pillar resources to grow capability to deliver sustaining results
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor Degree in any major
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
5 or above years’ experience in manufacturing, production, logistics, quality, planning, engineering and/or research and development areas
Strong continuous improvement background (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma)
Excellent project management skills
Result oriented and strong bias for action and delivery against a plan
Technical field knowledge essential
Financial skills are essential
Proficiency in English is essential
Equipped with Lean knowledge and has experience in supporting a Lean transformation or related experiences.
