As the Associate Manager, Chemistry - Fragrance Design Steward, you will act as the Fragrance Design Steward for Home Cleaning leading a variety of functions related to the creation of fragrance, modification of fragrances and strategic application of fragrance in our forms to meet the expanding organizational and market needs of our business. You will develop new products, line extensions, and lead fragrance advancements which result in consumer preferred benefits. You will have the opportunity to develop fragrances with our Core Fragrance House Partners to meet internal ingredient standards (ACP) and industry best practices for safety, scientific significance, accuracy, and recordkeeping

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct performance testing to support claims and approve quality of translations before moving to validation. Analyze data and draw conclusions to make recommendations.
Prepare samples and track documentation for submissions, evaluations, consumer testing and broader company sharing. Coordinate outside testing with appropriate resources as required
Meet with core fragrance house partners to build relationship, share expertise and manage flow of information. This can include travel.
Review trade publications and other industry news sources for fragrance happenings as well as websites, social media content of suppliers and cross category inspiration.
Work as a member of a cross functional team to create new fragrances and fragrance improvements that address consumer user criteria, needs, and insights
Prepare and/or coordinate preparation of sales samples as needed for agency partners and regional teams.
Set and adhere to project milestones for fragrance development in ultimate service of launch time deadlines.
Navigate cross functional matrix of partners in Global Safety and Regulatory Affairs (GSARA), Fragrance Houses, Procurement, Trade Compliance, Marketing, CIBA, External Experts.
Fragrance Library Management and Curation to allow for search and reapply in regions.
Obtain an awareness of regulatory and sustainability issues applicable to fragrance launches
Utilize knowledge to contribute to the successful commercialization of new ideas driving consumer and corporate value.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or other related science and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the consumer products industry OR an advanced degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or other related science with at least 3 years of experience in the consumer products industry
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Experience in fragrance development and passion for sensorial attributes.
Possess an understanding of regulatory processes, i.e., EPA registrations, etc
Knowledge of the product development process and experience related to various formulation and delivery system technologies related to products (e.g., aerosol formulation, emulsion chemistry, gel formulation, polymer chemistry, reaction products, surfactants, solvents, builders)
Understanding of the functional properties, proper use, and the environmental impact of ingredients
Provide innovative ideas and knowledge with a high degree of integrity, speed, and a results-oriented approach
Explore new technologies and materials, which may have application for product lines and ability to design experiments to evaluate the performance attributes of products
Curiosity and the ability to solve technical problems related to formulation and manufacturing
Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate accurately and concisely to multiple levels within the company
Proficient computer skills; will be required to become competent in the use of PLM (SAP based product management system)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Position is Full-Time, regular business hours, Monday-Friday
Office and lab work environment: Remote work available once a week for eligible employees.
Ability to lift 10 – 30 pounds
Travel up to 10%
This role is eligible for domestic relocation.
