We are committed to providing opportunities for you to expand both the breadth and depth of your expertise within and across our business functions. Each of our functions has an Integrated Leadership & Development Framework focused on identifying the key skills needed to develop your knowledge within that function, while also providing consistent opportunities for you to learn new skills cross-functionally and enable your mobility within the broader organization.

Employee-Driven Careers

Whether it’s a promotion in your function, a cross-functional move to broaden your knowledge or a move to another SCJ location around the globe — you’ll be supported in defining the skills and experiences you want to develop for continuous growth.

To support each team member's learning and career goals, we provide a formal process through Individual Development Plans (IDP). These plans are a partnership between an SCJ team member and their manager, reviewed and discussed throughout the year as progress is made. When managed effectively, IDPs create:

REVIEWING PERFORMANCE AND PROMOTABILITY

SCJ’s performance management process ensures all team members receive the input they need to do their best work and grow professionally. The process includes goal setting, feedback and coaching, and performance review phases.

Leadership annually reviews the performance, promotability and career aspirations of their team members through our Management, Succession and Development (MS&D) process. This detailed talent review results in targeted development and succession plans for the organization.
