LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Everyone at SC Johnson is a leader. We believe that success in careers at SCJ requires both leadership skills as well as functional/technical skills and expertise. We follow one consistent set of principles to develop our leaders, guiding how we lead ourselves, collaborate with others and drive business success.
SCJ provides critical experiences, mentoring, and development programs to increase leadership capabilities. Additionally, we provide support and development opportunities for those critical transitions in leadership levels.

GLOBAL LEADER DEVELOPMENT SERIES
A core element of our commitment to developing leadership skills at SCJ is through our Global Leader Development Series. Led and facilitated by company leaders and our group of Enterprise Faculty, these engaging trainings build critical capabilities that pave the way for the future of our business and supports the ongoing development and growth of SCJ people.
Examples of focus areas from previous Global Leader Development Series sessions include:

Enabling leaders to embrace and live SCJ Values in their role as a leader of people, a project or process. Enhancing self-awareness and achieving personal effectiveness are key learnings.

Growth Through Feedback
As our leaders progress in management of their teams, we know that receiving feedback is critical to continuous development. We gather input from a leader's team members and peers through a comprehensive, multi-dimensional assessment that helps us understand how SCJ's leadership behaviors are being demonstrated.
Outputs from the assessment are provided for reflection and contribute to the leader's personal development as they continue to grow.
Enhancing People Leader Capabilities
When new leaders join our organization or current SCJ people become people managers for the first time, we train up these team members with guidance and best practices on effectively leading and developing teams. Our Management Essentials program focuses on upskilling manager’s capabilities on key processes and strategies to support, nurture and develop talent at SCJ.
Live Sessions
These first-time people leader trainings are comprised sessions that build management fundamentals needed to effectively lead a team at SCJ. We equip leaders with the tools to prepare to lead teams at SCJ, build effective teams, and provide quality feedback and coaching.
Virtual Learnings
All SCJ people who lead others learn best practices in key areas of leadership including topics such as hiring processes, supporting an inclusive environment, performance management processes, succession planning and more.
